Summer programme

A chance for families to breathe, connect and have fun together.

Family psychology is a speciality within contemporary psychology. It has basic and applied aspects, covers treatment and prevention interventions, and is taught in graduate training programs, generally within clinical/ child or counselling psychology. Although it has less of a formal and lengthy history than more well known and established specialities like clinical, counselling, or school psychology, it stands among the new specialities such as health and forensic psychology. Closely related to family psychology is the topic of child development. Child development refers to the sequence of physical, language, sensory, cognitive and emotional processes which occur from birth to the beginning of adulthood. This complex process is influenced by biological and environmental factors, which can be actively enhanced by the support and the right challenges.

This year, both topics form a core part of our research at Human And Social Development Association. In order to explore this, we are inviting families from around the world for a retreat!

Who:

  • Newly formed families (families with newborns or expecting a newborn)
  • Families going through hardships
  • Families going through grief due to the loss of a child

Your family’s retreat is an individual process within the safety of a group. This means attention to your family’s personal story while others join you along the way. Together we will share, learn from each other and provide each other with encouragement and support.
